Calling all Apprentice/YouTube fans!!

28 09 2009
Watch this video. It made me laugh! Not that it takes much…

It’s Nessa and Bryn. What’s occurin’?

13 03 2009

They are number one, they are on Top Of The Pops tonight and they are doing something funny for money. You should do the same. A brilliant version of the classic Islands In The Stream.

I give to you Ruth Jones, Rob Brydon and two special appearances by Robin Gibb and Sir Tom Jones. This is Barry Islands In The Stream

What To Watch – Thursday 12 March

COMIC RELIEF – THE APPRENTICE

BBC ONE – 9:00 PM

The battle of the boardroom is back tonight and all in aid of Comic Relief. Watch famous names from the worlds of entertainment, television, and business compete in two teams. It’s boys versus girls and Sir Alan Sugar hands them the challenge of designing a children’s toy. Both teams must take into account the marketing and design. The one that is most popular wins. A member of the losing team will hear the infamous words, “You’re fired!”

It looks like an amazing episode to set fans up for the return of the new series in a few weeks. Watch out for some sparks flying between EastEnder Patsy Palmer and businesswoman Michelle Mone. I love this show and tonight is going to be top quality television. The results are announced tomorrow during the Comic Relief telethon.

COMIC RELIEF – BIG RED NOSE CLIMB

BBC ONE – 8:00 PM

So, the nine celebs made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro on Saturday morning. This programme follows their journey. There will be plenty of painful moments as the celebs face some of the toughest, most challenging moments of their lives. Having raised over £1 million for Comic Relief, their effort and enthusiasm has been remarkable. There aren’t many people that survive the mountain climb. They have had their fair share of setbacks and illnesses. Cheryl Cole was sick, Alesha Dixon fell off a ledge and Gary Barlow had back problems. However they all made it to the top so make sure you tune in tonight and follow their extraordinary journey.

No more music on YouTube

9 03 2009

YouTube is to stop showing premium music videos because it has failed to reach a licensing agreement.

The Performing Rights Society (PRS) and YouTube have not managed to agree on a license so all music videos will be removed or blocked. The blocking began at 18:00 this evening and a spokesperson from PRS is said to be outraged and shocked at YouTube’s decision.

Could this mean that YouTube’s popularity will begin to flounder? PRS blame YouTube and say that they are not thinking about their British consumers. It is believed that PRS were not notified straight away and that negotiations have taken place between YouTube and a third party.

The music videos are only being blocked from consumers in the UK. YouTube is not the only company to have faced problems securing licenses, social networking site MySpace has also had troubles in the past.

Meanwhile, I had to get this in, here is the most popular video on YouTube. It has nothing to do with music but has an astounding 85, 825, 113 views and that figure is still rising!

What To Watch – Friday 6th March

FRIDAY NIGHT WITH JONATHAN ROSS

BBC ONE 10:35 PM

I personally couldn’t wait for this show to come back and so far it has not disappointed. I expected it to be different and although Jonathan is perhaps not as witty as he used to be, the standard of the show has stayed the same. Tonight will be a good show because the main focus is on Gavin and Stacey star and writer, James Corden. He will be talking to Jonathan about hosting the Brits with Kylie and his new sketch show (Horne and Corden) where he plays alongside Matthew Horne, his Gavin and Stacey c0-star. Other guests include, Dexter star Michael C Hall and Annie Lennox who will be providing the music.

RAMSAY’S KITCHEN NIGHTMARES USA

CHANNEL 4 9:00 PM

Gordon has been in the news a lot recently and not for good reasons. However this show makes up for that and provides some quality entertainment. Tonight he travels to Michigan to a restaurant that is on the brink of closure. The restaurant named, Jack’s is managed by three owners a general manager and a chef. Gordon meets all of them and begins to realise that none of them will take responsibility for the situation they are in. So, can Gordon save Jack’s? Let’s hope he can because I have heard that the three owners are amateur bodybuilders. Bearing that in mind, Gordon needs to pull out all of the stops to save the restaurant because I for one would not like to see them angry. The could give Gordon a run for his money.

QI

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

I am so pleased that Stephen Fry and his QI has made it onto BBC One. It was a long time coming but the leap from BBC Two to BBC One has meant higher ratings and I think QI has firmly been put on the map. The schedulers have also got it right , prime time on a Friday evening is a highly contended slot. Tonight guests Emma Thompson and John Sessions,  will team up with Alan Davies and David Mitchell to answer questions on films.

What To Watch – Wednesday 4th March

4 03 2009

WATERLOO ROAD

BBC ONE 8:00 PM

Last weeks episode was drama at it’s best and I have to congratulate Denise Welch for her outstanding performance. If you did not see it last week catch it on iPlayer. This week the school is in a state of shock at the sudden death of Maxine. How is Earl Kelly going to get away with this one? Quite easily it seems as Miss Mason (Eva Pope) believes that she is responsible for the death and decides to resign. Surely she won’t though. Meanwhile, Donte has a proposition for Chlo. Will everything go well for him and Chlo the parents-to-be. Also Steph (Denise Welch) and Janeece (Chelsee Healey) get counseling from Charlotte (Natalie J Robb) to help them with their grief. Sounds like another brilliant episode.

NATURE’S GREAT EVENTS

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

When you look in the listings and see a David Attenborough show, you know immediately that it is going to be compelling to watch. Nature’s Great Events is no different. Episode four tonight focuses on ‘The Great Tide’. More importantly the journey of thousands of sardines across the South African coast. The episode follows the sardines who do not have the easiest time. They become food for dolphins, whales, sharks and gannets which all compete to catch as many sardines as possible. However the number of sardines is diminishing and Attenborough will be explaining the effect this is having on the predators. As usual the previous episodes are available on iPlayer. For those of you who have high definition, the show can be experienced on the BBC HD Channel.

Who says EastEnders can’t do comedy?

2 03 2009

Here is a scene from tonight’s EastEnders. Tanya (Jo Joyner) and Jane (Laurie Brett) are refused entry to an 80′s party at R&R’s so decide to sing Bananarama while walking down Bridge Street. Ian (Adam Woodyatt) then tells Jane that she is grounded because of her appalling behaviour. Acting drunk isn’t easy but these two seem to pull it off! These clips are just feeding my obsession with the show…

Allen and Carr do the Cadburys Advert

2 03 2009

I posted the original advert on Friday but here is Lily Allen and Alan Carr making a mockery of the ad on The Sunday Night Project. Thought it was quite funny even if I am not Alan Carr’s biggest fan…

The video will not play for some reason but here is the link for it on YouTube.

What To Watch – Monday 2nd March

2 03 2009

OK I thought that I would do this every day now as well as the many other updates I will post on here. Call it a little heads-up (or not) of some of the interesting programmes gracing our television screens each night. Some I am sure you will not agree with and please let me know. But if you do agree then comment on the programmes, I look forward to reading all of your comments!

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

This week, for the last programme in the series, actor Kevin Whately traces his family history. He starts off in his home town in Newcastle and goes back to the 18th Century where an ancestor had links with the Bank of England.

PANORAMA

BBC ONE 8:30 PM

The long running show tonight pays particular attention to the recession. Focusing on the turmoil concerning the Royal Bank of Scotland, Panorama investigates who will lose the most from the problems the bank faces. The show includes interviews from financial analysts, legal experts and city insiders.

HUSTLE SERIES ONE

VIRGIN 1 10:00PM

Following the recent success of the last series, Virgin 1 is replaying Hustle from the start. For those who do not know, the show is based on con-artists or grifters. Each story has a spectacular twist and the scripts are among the best written scripts on the television.
