EastEnders7:30 PM

For all the EastEnders fans out there not only is it the big Ronnie/Danielle reveal but also an hour long episode. The main focus tonight appears to be on Peggy and Archie’s wedding. The bride goes against what Archie wants and wears her own outfit. How will he react? Also Danielle has a score to settle and some news that could change the Mitchell’s lives forever. Will she reveal her true identity and how will she do it? By putting her locket in Ronnie’s champagne glass of course. But with Ronnie wondering who it was, nothing can prepare her for the true identity of the daughter her father had told her was dead and buried.

Archie is in control but for how much longer and will Peggy finally see his true colours. It seemed as though Archie and Ronnie were getting on but this is EastEnders and we all knew it would be short lived. As Ronnie and Danielle have a heart to heart that ends up in a row, Danielle leaves. Ronnie runs after her but nothing can prepare her for what is about to happen. A twist in the storyline will keep viewers hooked.

The teams need their businesses to stand out and need to pitch their ideas to become a lunchtime business company for some of the top firms in London. Not only must the teams come up with the ideas, they must also make and serve the food to the clients as well as thinking of something different and interesting. As ever the clients are not the easiest of people to pitch to and perfection is key if the teams want to win the task. One will not and Nick and Margaret will be with them every step of the way, right up until Sir Alan utters the words nobody wants to hear, “You’re fired!”

As ever, Adrian will be there to see the funny side of what some of the candidates did or did not do.

ALL THE SMALL THINGS

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

This new six-part drama is the BBC’s scheduling replacement for Mistresses and is written by Debbie Horsfield. She has brought up top quality drama like Cutting It in the past. This series sees Sarah Lancashire play a choir member. The choir is conducted by her husband. Lancashire’s character, Esther Caddick is a mother of three but her world is rocked when Layla (Sarah Alexander) the sexy soprano turns up and not only steals the limelight but also Esther’s husband. As the pair split, Esther creates her own choir and works in direct competition with her husband Michael (Neil Pearson). It looks like a promising new drama and with not many around at the moment, it could become must-see television.

THE WIRE

BBC TWO 11:20 PM

The critically acclaimed US drama is heading to BBC Two. The first run, a 13-part series is set in Baltimore. It tells the story of a drugs and murder police investigation. Opinions come from the view of the law and their targets. I think that BBC Two have messed up the scheduling of this a bit. It is on so late and I don’t think viewing figures are going to be that strong. Nevertheless I am sure it is worth a look.

DISPATCHES: THE TROUBLE WITH BORIS

CHANNEL 4 8:00 PM

Boris has been the Mayor of London for 11 months but has he done any good? This programme looks back at the last 11 months and forward to the next few years to see if he can get us out of the economic crisis. Does he have the strategy? And when will those bendy buses be gone? Personally, I quite like them.

How much will Ulrika reveal? (Source: Mirror)

ITV1 10:00 PM

He is the man who will ask any question. He leaves no subject unmentioned and tonight should be interesting as he interviews Ulrika Jonsson. She might have won Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year but she is no stranger to being in the spotlight when it comes to her personal life. With four children by four different men and an alleged rape story, will Morgan be able to extract all of the fine details and get her to open up to what really happened. And will she name the man that did it. Was it really John Leslie? If anyone can get it out of her he can. Tune in tonight to find out what she has to say about life in the media spotlight.

TOP DOGS: ADVENTURES IN WAR, SEA AND ICE

John Simpson discusses his job on the front line (Source: Telegraph)

John Simpson discusses his job on the front line (Source: Telegraph)

BBC TWO 9:00 PM

In the first of a three-part run, war reporter John Simpson takes yachtsman Robin Knox-Johnston and explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes to one of the many places he has reported from and discusses his profession. This looks like a very interesting series as three very different but thought provoking professions are exposed in ways that we rarely see. What will the other two think of the dangerous situations Simpson has been in and what will they all have in store for one another when they discuss their professions?

EASTENDERS

Will Janine expose Ricky and Bianca's secret? (Source: The Sun)

BBC ONE 8:00 PM

Tonight scheming Janine (Charlie Brooks) finds out that Ricky (Sid Owen) is Tiffany’s dad. But what will she bribe him with in order to keep it quiet, let her babysit for Tiffany (Maisie Smith) of course. The two begin to bond but when Bianca (Patsy Palmer) returns home and finds Janine babysitting she hits the roof. After all she did catch Tiffany being bundled into one of Janine’s clients cars last night, so I am not surprised. But with Bianca reading the riot act will Janine be able to keep quiet or will she blurt out Ricky and Bianca’s secret?

THE REAL SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON

Will the families survive? (Source: Ricochet)

Will the families survive? (Source: Ricochet)

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

A new four-part series follows families as they experience life away from home and their luxuries. Tonight the programme follows the Dyes family from Essex. They are stranded on the remote island of Anariki in the North Pacific. Will they be able to survive with the supplies they have, and will they be able to make a home out of what the island has to offer. I am sure some will crack under the pressure. It seems like a more up-market Shipwrecked to me.

Kate Humble, Steve Leonard and the team in Ethiopia

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

This two part series concludes tonight and last week we got a real insight into life in the Danakil Desert in Ethopia where relationships with humans and animals is one of the most important things. Tonight Kate Humble, Steve Leonard and the team find out more about life in such a harsh climate. How do families survive in what has been officially recognised as the hottest place in the world?

TROPHY KIDS

CHANNEL 4 9:00 PM

I have seen a few cases like this before and the programme would be better suited with a name like ‘Pushy Parents.’ The Cutting Edge documentary profiles the parents that give up jobs in order to ensure their children achieve sporting success. Some cash in on their savings in a desperate bid for success. But can parents go a bit too far sometimes and do the children always share the same passion for success as their mums and dads?

I OWN BRITAIN’S BEST HOME

Could this be Britains best home?

Could this be Britain's best home?

THE APPRENTICE

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

I cannot wait for tonight and the return of The Apprentice. 15 candidates and one job, Sir Alan’s search for his apprentice begins tonight. With the task of getting down and dirty in the first week by setting up a car cleaning business how will the teams fare? Will they take to it like ducks to water or struggle from the start. As ever Nick and Margaret will be there to watch their every move as they try and make a success of their business to impress Sir Alan in the boardroom. However one team has to lose and one will get fired! This is reality television at its very best and with a romance rumoured in the house, will relationships become strained to make it one of the most enjoyable series yet?

THE APPRENTICE: YOU’RE FIRED!

BBC TWO 10:00 PM

If you can’t get enough of the main show like me and you want to hear more from the fired candidate then tune in at 10 to see Adrian Chiles interview the contestant that nobody wants to be. Getting fired in the first week must be the worst thing but how about pulling out before the series has even started? Adrian interviews the candidate that could not commit to filming. 31 year-old Adam Freeman did not make it onto our screens but will be seen tonight explaining why he could not go through with it. The father of two from Essex made a million by the time he was 25 selling mobile ringtones but will he live up to the term that Sir Alan addresses him as, a “bottler?”

MISTRESSES

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

I really don’t want this series to come to an end and hope it will be back next year. The explosive finale tonight exposes Katie and Jack’s affair but who will be the ones to find out? Also tonight Jess contemplates life a single mum as her marriage is still in tatters. Trudi also has a decision to make, does she go back to Richard or stay with her new love interest, her work colleague. Meanwhile can Siobhan mend her marriage and will Hari be able to forgive her? Sounds like a fitting finale for such a compelling drama. Tune in tonight to find out what happens.

HOLLOWAY

ITV1 9:00 PM

If Mistresses isn’t your thing then maybe Holloway will be slightly more appealing. The second in the three-part run goes behind the scenes at the women’s prison and sheds some light on prison life. Tonight, inmates that self-harm in order to escape their life behind bars. This is a thought-provoking and sometimes quite shocking insight into the life on some of the offenders, particularly the younger ones.

THE LION CUB FROM HARRODS

FIVE 8:00 PM

This documentary tells the story of two Australians that bought a lion cub from Harrods in 1969. They raised the cub and it was treated it as if it were their child. However when it became too large, the lion had to be released into the wild in Kenya. Years on the reunion is a YouTube hit and you can watch it above. It is phenomenal how the lion acts towards the two. It just shows what a good upbringing can do!

CLEOPATRA, PORTRAIT OF A KILLER

BBC ONE 9:00 PM

If history programmes are your thing then this is definitely worth a look. We all know that these documentaries belong at the BBC and there is no other company that does them better. Tonight, Neil Oliver who some may have seen on The One Show travels to Egypt and Turkey to uncover the reign of Cleopatra VII. Throughout his journey, Oliver unravels the monarch’s lust for power and answers the question as to whether she killed her own daughter.

FILM – PRETTY WOMAN

ITV2 9:00 PM

I think that ITV2 must be receiving commission for showing this film because it is always on. Nevertheless it is a very good film and no matter how many times it is shown, people will tune in and watch it. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere star in this comedy that was released way back in 1990. In the film, (as if you didn’t already know) Gere plays a businessman that hires a prostitute in the form of Julia Roberts. But as the film progresses, the pair fall in love. Will they it go or confront their feelings? We all know what happens and will probably be tuning in anyway…

GAVIN AND STACEY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

BBC THREE 9:00 PM

BBC Three have been repeating the first and second series and now it is time, if you missed it to catch up on the Christmas special which has me in fits of laughter. Probably one of the TV highlights over the Christmas period, Gavin and Stacey have some big news for both families but how will Pam and Smithy take it? Also can Smithy persuade Ness to break off her engagement to Dave Coaches? When I was watching it, I could relate to what was going on and Ruth Jones and James Corden did an amazing job when writing it. With a lot of laughs throughout, make sure you tune in and watch the most famous marriage on television.
