Coleen wants to skate again

12 03 2009
Coleen Nolan has expressed her wish to skate in the Dancing On Ice semi-finals on Sunday.

Nolan has suffered a rib injury and will find out for definite tomorrow as to whether she can skate at the weekend. Coleen described the pain as excruciating and worse than childbirth. There is a 50/50 change that she will compete in the semi-finals.

Nolan has shocked both members of the public and the judges. She is not the strongest skater in the competition but support from her fans has seen her skate through to the semi-finals with more competent skaters being voted out of the show.

The Loose Women star has said that she owes it to all of the people who have voted for her to skate this Sunday.

The Dancing On Ice semi-finals are on ITV1 live at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday.

Coleen could be off the ice this time

10 03 2009

Dancing On Ice underdog, Coleen Nolan is in hospital today after sustaining another injury which could put her place in the semi-finals in jeopardy.

Nolan said she was “practicing the flying” when she heard something in her back crack. The hospital ran tests and it turns out she has a cracked rib. Doctors will decide today whether she is well enough to compete in the semi-finals on Sunday. Coleen told her fellow Loose Women co-hosts that she was so disappointed. She feels she has let herself down because she has made it so far. Further than anyone ever thought I think.

Last week it was unclear as to whether Coleen would perform in the quarter-finals due to a wrist injury. I hope she is well enough and goes onto win it. After all we love an underdog, look at John Sergeant and Strictly…

The three remaining celebs battling it out on the ice are, Donal McIntyre, Ray Quinn, and Jessica Taylor.

Gavin and Stacey to end after third series

10 03 2009

Writer and actress Ruth Jones has just confirmed that there will not be a fourth series of BBC hit comedy Gavin and Stacey. Jones, 42 who plays Nessa in the show told the Loose Women that the third series will be the final one.

She told Jackie Brambles, Carol McGiffin, Denise Welch and Jane McDonald that her and co-writer James Corden did not intend to write a second series. They did want to do a special which was broadcast at Christmas and was a ratings winner.

The growing popularity has meant that the sitcom has gone from BBC Three to BBC One. It is repeated on BBC Three every week and no matter how much I watch it, I find it just as funny.

Jones was also on the show to promote her Comic Relief single that she performs with co-star Rob Brydon and Sir Tom Jones. Barry Islands In The Stream is out now and available for download. Proceeds go to Comic Relief. Don’t miss them performing on Top Of The Pops, BBC Two 10:00 p.m.

Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan may have to pull out of Dancing On Ice due to an injury.

Nolan fractured her wrist during training with her partner, Stuart Widdall. The injury could not come at a worse time as Nolan prepares to dance in just over 24 hours time.

Coleen has shocked many with her skills and many see her as the underdog in the competition. I say she should go on and win it, if not for her skill, her perseverance with Jason Gardiner who allegedly told her to pull out of the competition anyway.

So, will Coleen be dancing tomorrow night? Tune into Dancing On Ice, tomorrow on ITV1 at 7:10 pm.
