Fern is defecting back to the BBC (Source: Guardian)
The Sun has reported that Fern Britton has accepted a job at the BBC.
The 50 year-old presenter who announced her decision to quit ITV1′s This Morning this week is said to be the new face on a light entertainment show to be broadcast on the BBC.
Britton has also stepped down as presenter of the British Soap Awards this year. She would have been presenting it with Phillip Schofield and would not have been receiving as much money for doing it.
Yesterday she denied that her and Schofield had been having disagreements and that their friendship was still the same as it had been before her decision to quit.

Fern Britton announced yesterday that she was to step down as host on ITV1′s This Morning. Her reasons were unclear but today it has emerged that she is unhappy with her salary which is much less than her co-host Phillip Schofield receives.
A few months ago it was reported that Phillip will get more money for hosting All Star Mr and Mrs than Fern and is is claimed that Britton is not very happy that ITV do not use her for other things like Phillip. He has become something of an ITV stalwart in recent years presenting Dancing On Ice and is set to do a new show this year. Fern has not been used that much.
Fern has hosted This Morning for 10 years and has been alongside Schofield for six. They have one of the best partnerships on television and I am sure many will be sad to see her go. But will she defect back to the BBC? She has been on Let’s Dance and Question Time…
She will step down from This Morning in July. Anyone else think this story is relative of Carol Vorderman’s decision to quit Countdown last year?

Horne and Corden already have two celebrity guests confirmed (Source: Metro)
Will Young is to make a cameo appearance in BBC Three’s sketch show Horne and Corden. The show which began last week broke a record for being the highest rated comedy on the channel since it launched. The first episode pulled in an impressive 817,000 viewers. Young will make his guest appearance in the Spiderman and Superman sketch. Horne said that he didn’t have to do much but what he did do made the scene work really well.
It is not only Will Young that will be appearing, Matt Horne also told This Morning’s Phillip Scholfield and Fern Britton that pop princess Kylie Minogue is set to record a sketch with them. Horne worked with Kylie on her ITV1 show, The Kylie Show. He said that they had stayed friends ever since and she has been continually supportive.
Horne and Corden continues tomorrow at 10:30 on BBC Three. If you missed the last episode, catch it on BBC iPlayer.

Do Something Funny For Money (Source: firstnews.co.uk)
BBC ONE 7:00 PM
It’s a night filled with some of the best comedy around. The telethon which lasts for around 8 hours tonight will see comedians such as James Corden, the cast of The Royle Family and Ricky Gervais doing things that are funny for money. Also on the bill are performances from Take That, Girls Aloud and some of the biggest bands around. The hosts tonight include, Graham Norton, Davina McCall, Fern Britton, Jonathan Ross and Claudia Winkleman.
French and Saunders will also perform their last sketch ever which is a shame because they are just so funny. The Big Red Nose Climb will also come to and end and fans of the outstanding episode of last nights Apprentice will find out who has been fired from the boys team.
But don’t forget what this is all about. The comedy is all done for a purpose, to help raise money for those in need in the UK and Africa.
During the BBC News at 22:00, turn over to BBC Two for Top Of The Pops where Franz Ferdinand, Oasis and Gavin and Stacey stars Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones will perform.
This is my only recommendation today so make sure you tune in for a great night of comedy, all in aid of Comic Relief.
TOTAL WIPEOUT
BBC ONE 6:10 PM
The schedulers have been moving this show around quite a bit recently due to the Six Nations but tonight it is back. I like to call it a much more professional version of ‘It’s A Knockout’ and it has a better presenter too. Richard Hammond makes the show as much as the contestants who battle it through an obstacle course in Argentina. Tonight’s show will be as good as the previous and Total Wipeout is doing very well in the ratings regularly attracting over six million viewers. This is Saturday night TV at it’s best but the question remains. Will anyone conquer the big balls tonight?
LET’S DANCE FOR COMIC RELIEF
BBC ONE 7:05 PM
The third heat takes place tonight with two celebrities being voted through to the grand final next Friday. So, which celebrities are taking to the floor tonight to perform some of the most well known dances from the big stage and screen? The six celebs tonight include, Fern Britton, Angela Rippon, Dom Joly, Zoe Ball and Suggs. As usual Anton Du Beke will be head judge and will be accompanied by Lisa Snowdon who will offer the celebs costructive criticism or praise depending on how well they do. Like Total Wipeout this is Saturday night TV at its best. And if that isn’t enough, the stars from the hit musical Mamma Mia! will be performing live in the studio. So put on your flares because tonight sounds like it is going to be a good one.
The finalists will join, Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness, Robert Webb, Jo Brand and Dick and Dom in the final.
ANT AND DEC’S SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY
ITV1 7:45 PM
This show just gets better with every series. The new features such as ‘Escape From Takeaway Prison’ really do make this one of the best Saturday night programmes around at the moment. What makes it better are the presenters. Who could pull it off better than these two? Tonight the Geordie lads are back with music from Franz Ferdinand. They also set another challenge for the nine inmates left in Takeaway Prison. The challenge is said to be stomach-churning. Also will the two be animal friendly when they undertake an animal challenge in ‘Ant -vs- Dec The Teams’. To top it all off one lucky contestant will get the chance to play for prizes from the ads. Will they be triumphant or go home with a bar of soap and a toilet brush?
Tune into ITV1 tonight to find out.
